Best Practices in Post-Trauma Community Re-Integration

Join us for this year's conference on Trauma and Stress.

When: November 24, 2017, 8:30 am to 5:00 pm EST

Where: St-Elias Banquet Centre, 750 Ridgewood Avenue, Ottawa, ON K1V 6N1

Fees: $90 (includes lunch, break, reception and networking opportunities)

This one-day conference will bring together experts in our community to present best practices related to trauma and stress. It will help community providers support patients dealing with mental health issues, including mood and anxiety disorders, post-traumatic stress disorder and suicide risk.

We have a great line-up of speakers, including our keynote, Dr. Alex Neumeister, Director, Stress and Trauma Research Unit, The Royal’s Institute of Mental Health Research (IMHR).

Our target audience include, hospital staff & discharge teams, nurses, inpatient & outpatient rehab professionals, allied health professionals, psychologists, neuropsychologists, PTs/OTs/SLPs/PTAs/OTAs vocational specialists and other community providers, family physicians, neurologists, surgical and rehabilitation physicians and psychiatrists, and lawyers.

7th National Spinal Cord Injury Conference: Remember

Military Medicine and Spinal Cord Injury Rehabilitation: A Novel Intersection

When: November 9 - 11, 2017

Where: Fallsview Casino Resort, 6361 Fallsview Boulevard, Niagara Falls, ON

Description: The 7th National SCI Conference focuses on how clinical care is designed, interpreted, delivered and evaluated using biological and clinical evidence to shape rehabilitation practice. In addition, a unique discussion of how advances in military medicine have informed SCI care is planned and the unique needs and challenges of individuals with SCI injured in combat will be highlighted.

Key note speakers, along with workshops and oral and poster presentations, will provide clinicians and scientists opportunities to utilize information generated from multiple sources (i.e. clinical guidelines, algorithms, new technologies and rehabilitation interventions, decision support and economic analysis, and policy change, and new discoveries) to customize and advance the rehabilitation of individuals with SCI over their lifetime.
